New Mac/Suite questions.

Robbie Comeau

Como's back. back again
Just got a new 24 inch imac, 3.06 ghz, 4 gigs of RAM for editing.

I'm building a suite, and its looking pretty suite! (get it?)

Um, now right now, I'm sharing all my files from my upstairs mac. (I'm using it's internet, it's music, it's programs.) Is this ok? Can I keep doing this?

Next question, I want to bring my External Harddrive (500 gig Lacie) down so I can work on some projects. Is it ok to move it to my new computer and work with the video files?

Next questions. I have my mac right infront of me, and the wall is about 1.5 feet away form the mac. If I hook my HD tv up on the wall, would that be to close to my eyes? I would have to be looking up, causing some neck pains in the future. Should I keep it far away from me so I don't have use my head to look up and down? I'm guessing this is what most of you guys do.

Thanks,

Robbie

Dunno aboot the first one. As for the second, idk about the mac world, but as far as PCs go thats one of the main reasons people use external HDDs, so you can work with the same file on multiple comps.
As far as your HDTV, try and find somewhere that you arent giving it a blowjob so that you can be comfertable when watching playback. Like on the wall off to your left or right (while your sitting at your editing station) so you can just turn your chair 90degrees and have it at a good distance.
