New Letus Extreme Lowlight Footage

Lucky Duck
Shot in my kitchen using only the practical lights. This is quick and dirty, no elegance or grace in these shots. :cheesy:

I think for what was on, it was the equivalent of 200w of light (4 x 50w bulbs). The Extreme performed really well under this "normal" interior lighting.

The XHA1 was set to 0 gain and I used a Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens.

Downrezzed to 720p

do you remember what the Nikon 1.8 was stopped down too. Thats seems too sharp for 1.8 by itself

The footy looked great, and now my wife wants a tiled backsplash...thanks:( Anyway, some footage with a wide would be nice say a 24mm.

Yes, I have that lens too. There's only so much testing that can be done before you just need to decide you are going to get the thing or not. I think the Extreme is a great piece of engineering and I really like the people behind it, they have been a great support when I have suggestions and questions.

The bottom line is that this is the adapter that I dreamed of a few years ago and I never thought I would own one.

Question: is a Nikon 50mm 1.4 really that much better than a Canon 50mm 1.4? (to be worth twice as much in some cases?)

That is the cleanest, most phenomenal indoor adapter footage lit with practicals I have seen. I know the Marketplace is going to get a flood of adapters as people like me sell theirs to get a letus extreme. Do you have the locking Nikon mount on it or the swappale canon/nikon?

Very nice footage. And now my wife wants a glass tile back splash and a stainless steel gas stove top. Thanks a lot for that! ;)

disjecta,
You said you had about 200 watts total on those shots.
Was it 200 watts aiming only on the stove and counter tops or was it spread around your kitchen and some was acting as fill?
The image does look nicely sharp!

Thanks for posting, this footage is very informative. Looks as tho the limitations of 35mm adapters have just been blown away! Anyone wanna buy my used redrock..... ;)

jgastelb,

There are 4 50w spots above the stove and that was providing the majority of the light so it's more concentrated than, say, a reading lamp with a shade but, let's face it, if one is shooting a film and doing night interiors with no supplemental lighting, I really don't know what to say about that :)

That's for sure. Light is needed no matter what but 200 watts is baby light to most people. This will definitely help those that don't have 2-4k lying around the house.

THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FOOTAGE I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Can someone quick try it with the HVX and see what happens??

I think I may have to sell my HVX now if I can get that look on tapestock.
