New lens releases?

Does anybody know if the leading Lens manufactures plan to release new 1/3 inch lenses? I mean the actual lineup is very small....
Maybe they could sell more lenses if there would be a bigger choice.
Its the right time, isnt it? Pana 300, JVC 700/250, Sony 270....
I think there are a lot of people waiting...

I know that when the HD100 was released that Schneider via Century Optics did a cost analysis to see if it would be worth while to remount and rehouse their very nice line of industrial c mount prime lenses. They determined that the final cost would be far to high for the market.

I really wish that these manufacturers would have gone with a c mount. If they really wanted to put an eng lens on the camera they could have shipped them with c to 1/3" converters. Just Imagine all of the very nice and very cheap primes that are already out there. Switars still look fab and are dead cheap.

This might also be a good option for this cameras. It lets you mount Arri Standard lenses on the 1/3" mount. This opens up a huge range of lower cost primes and zooms from many companies like ziess, cooke, schneider, etc. Really good lenses and some of them come pretty wide, which would translate into standard focal length for the 1/3" cameras. Better than nothing though.
