New IPod!! WTF?!?!

Nothing wrong wit a soccermom car...they just dont seem like the kinda car a guy would drive...thats all...no offense.

Ok, looks like we need another DVXuser telethon to raise more money. This time it's for, ...for, ....hmmmmm, ....sock suspenders for the poor. Everyday I see people's socks falling down. Something MUST be done! Please donate today so I can get an iPod Nano, ...I mean, so we can stop this senseless falling down of the socks!

I have an iRiver, but man...this one looks too cool to pass up. I don't even need another MP3 player, but I'm already lusting after it...it's just so...sexy...

I have issues.

in response to earlier posts in the thread..

iPod is popular for several reasons..

1) easy interface to get to your music
2) stylin, looks sexy like just about everything apple puts out
3) iTunes.

other Mp3 players suck balls. I am sure there are a few good ones, but really... I am an iPod sucka myself.. and this is an iPod thread after all

C'mon the industrial design of Apple's products is head and shoulders above the rest. They actually DESIGN. Their products are beautiful before you even turn them on.

...Shame that when you do turn it on, the battery dies! Or put it in your pocket and it comes out all scratched and covered in greasy fingerprints!

Sometimes they neglect function for form... hasn't done them much harm in the case of the iPod, but I wouldn't buy another one unless I felt I could take it on holiday and it would come back working!

I wonder how tough it is? I would like one for riding my bike, but I mean I don't want it to break if I eat sh*t off some drop or gap, or fall on my pocket or something......I mean, I know everything has its breaking limits, but I wonder how tough that thing is.....

The weakest parts of the iPod have traditionally been the hard drive and the LCD screen. Since the Nano uses flash memory, the HD isn't an issue, and you can choose one of the thousands of cases to come, to protect the screen. I felt confident enough in the durability to order a Nano as a present for my niece. She'll be one lucky 11 year old. :)

Barry, I'm your cousin. My b-Day just passed... : (

lol, j/k

I can't believe they already have a new ipod out.... wow

1. They've resolved the earlier generation 1 battery problems they had.

2. That's why you do this to the chrome: http://members.optusnet.com.au/brushedipod/

Mine's a G3, and is pretty poor on battery, appartently they have improved on this since...

I have to keep it in a rubber case to protect it, in fact, I don't know anyone who does use their's in a case. Therefore the good looks get covered up anyway. I just think they should make a product that is durable without an additional case. My MD recorded got a battering and never missed a beat. My Ipod has died more than once (been returned to Switzerland!) and has been treated like a baby!

Had an Ipod mini for about 5 months now, and I have to say it is one of my best friends. Never had a problem with the battery, 16-18 hours on one charge that takes 4 hours? Wish my DVX did that. It also uses flash memomory 4gig, which makes it virtually indistructable. I have dropped it, kicked it, sat on it, and the sucker keeps on going. Never had it freeze or anything. The ipods will soon replace dogs as mans best friend, just you wait and see.

Ahhh...before you kick it again, you should know that the Mini's have hard drives.

NEVER! My dog doesn't ever need charging and if scratched, repairs herself! And since when did an iPod hover the floor if you spill food?

She doesn't sing Billie Jean that well though...

Really? That's weird, casue you can feel the hard drives running in the old ipods, I guess they did some re working in the new ones.

ahh thats right, it uses a micro drive. I completely forgot. Still a pretty robust little mp3 player though. But I wont play soccer with it anymore.

I wish the Nano had been made of the same anodized aluminium that the mini's were....but without a HD it should still be very rugged even with a hard plastic shell. Get the tubes for it.....they had different colors.
