New Internet Sitcom Shot with HVX

This is a sitcom I am working on for Scriptthis.tv. They give the topic and anybody can write the script and submit it to the site for the contest. The funniest 3 scripts 6-8 minute scripts get produced with actors over two days of shooting with the HVX. The crew consisted of me, me and me with a couple script this guys to slate and watch the audio mixer. We did not have time for lighting like we normally do on shoots so we just had to do it quick and shoot. I know the lighting is on the sucky side so please save the comments. Has the "Office" like feel. When we get paid for doing this we will have real sound, lots of gaffers to move lights, M2 adapter and most importantly HMI's.

Camera Rig: Fig Rig with follow focus/iris/zoom/record. No filters, and used custom filmlike setting altered from the HVX book.

Work flow: HVX 200, 3 x 8 gig cards, Powerbook G4, Lacie 500gig firewire 800, P2 Store, P2 Genie and Final Cut Pro. Rock Solid.

I thought this was pretty good, not hilarious, but pretty solid though. And it never hurts to have hot chicks in your cast! I didn't think the lighting looked that bad, actually it was pretty much how it looks in real offices. Overall, good job!
 
I've seen some of Davey Coyne's stuff on YouTube...I thought he was the funniest member of this cast, to be honest.

Judy, but I was digging Karen's Casual Friday look too...Tough choice all around.

Upon rewatching I'd tenatively suggest that the piece could maybe use some tightening up as far as pacing goes (where you can anyway). The faster the dialogue comes the less time the viewer has to reconsider laughing. Cutaways might help. Just a thought.
 
NICE concept for the show and website. How long have you been in existance? You have some funny people in the cast. Wish you the best on this... Also, what types of scripts are you looking for? I am producing a sketch comedy show and loving the HVX as a hammer to knock out the comedy.

Congrats and how have your script submissions been going? Some funny stuff?
 
We have been live for a month and this is our first contest. We are currently accepting scripts for the TOPIC - Drug Testing or Ken's first Assignment. We have gotten about 30 scripts for the second contest and we will shoot the funniest 3 scripts on October 21, 22. Love the HVX and the Fig Rig for shooting this way.
