Shot this in 3 hours before the artist went on stage at the venue he was playing at.

Just kinda showed up and shot behind the bar in an alleyway.

Nothing groundbreaking but considering the time allowed....turned out better than we all thought.

For the rapper Overlord who's pretty well known in the Austin area and a really great guy.

Love the jump cuts you do during the scratching.
This is really impressive for shooting in 3 hours. What kind of lights did you bring?
also, how does this look in color?

Just brought a couple fluorescents to light them in front and an Arri kit to light the buildings in the background.

And it surprisingly looks good in color, but the artist was a big fan of Jay-Z's "99 Problems" so he wanted to go with B&W, which I actually prefer.

Thanks for the comments Matt.

Just one quick question... when you connect your Arri kit your using a generator, or something attached to a car? How was it powered?

Generator. Always a generator. When we have a budget.

sometimes the best work is done when you have limited resources. For a 3 hour shoot, you guys did a great job. keep it up.

the greatest portable generator I used, was about 2 feet by 2 feet, silent and ran 3000w out of that puppy, I had 2 1ks and 3 kinos goin off it at once. Shot at downtown LA, run an gun style. All i remember that it was brand name HONDA but not the model. Definetly worth buying.

Honda EU3000. Best and quietest SHTF generator money can buy.
