New HPX300 user with horrible results

I updated firmware, disabled DRS, used all combinations of settings and recording formats I could find but getting noisy black specks in footage and lack of detail. Its muddy looking. Can someone with a working HPX300 confirm if this footage looks good to you or not?

I am so in need of help on this or I am screwed out of a ton of money.

Here is my raw AVC 100 clip

The right footage (Canon) has JAGs at the edges of the subjects (is there some electronic sharpening turned on ?, when shooting green screen don't use any electronic sharpening), the left image seems to be a little more noisy and a little soft.I have the feeling that the exposure settings are not set right at the Pana. I think that the noise levels are not that different only that the noise shows more of in the more overal dark image of the HPX. So I think that when using the proper exposure settings the Pana will even be better than the Canon in terms of noise. Just my 2 cts.

Which firmware version did you install?

Which one is the HPX300? I would guess the right hand side is. If it is the left hand side did you execute the back focus procedure? I had the XHA1 a while back and the HPX300 is hands down capable of a much better picture.

Here is another thing I notice with my unit. Take a look at these screen shots and MP4 video. Tell me if you see what I see. Lack of detail in 1080p mode. View images at 100%. The MP4 video was a 720p canvas with 1080p footage dropped in at 100% and placed side by side. No scaling was involved. The HPX is on the left.

I see the girl on the left has no detail in the hair. Its just a blotch of mush

In 720p mode it seems a little better detail

I long ago had the black dots problem but solved it, try this scene file. Works with 24p or 30p.
The detail coring makes a huge difference. Hope this scene file will work for you as it has for me.

I will try this one tomorrow when I am back in the office. Thanks. Thats an odd name for a scene file name though. lol.

It was supposed to read Danger, but the smiles somehow converted the capitol D.
Stupid thing.

I think you will like the preset, it will solve the black dot issue. Remember also to ALWAYS shoot at -3 on the 300 otherwise you will get noise.
