New Hd Camera

[Lindquist]

Hey,

Im new here and wanted some input on the codecs with the HPX170 and HMC150 since ill be deciding between those two.

I have a sony vx2100 that i am going to sell soon.

The price difference is weird.

HPX170 - 3.5k-4k
HMC150 - 2.5k.2.9k

just need a little bit of info on both of them and what i should choose.

The HPX170 is a better camera in many ways, and if you had the choice of one or the other, the HPX170 has more features, a more robust codec, easier editing, etc.

The reasons to go with the HMC150 are a) lower cost and b) cheap media.

I basically transcode AVCHD. I do this because I don't like editing long GOP interframe codecs.
