New guy here, differences between DVX100 and DVX100B

on the market to purchase a panasonic DVX series DV camera, but I know there is a few versions out there, and the higher the version, the better it is. Please correct me if I m wrong.

my questions is what are the differennces between the orginal DVX100, and DVX100 B version.

I see DVX100 going for a lot cheaper on ebay, so thus my question.

From what I can tell there isn't much difference between the two... I am looking to get a DVX, and I am leaning towards the DVX100a - is there any reason I should reconsider and get the DVX100b?
 
Lots of differences, you just need to decide whether they're important to you or not.

100A added 16:9 squeeze mode, the "peaking" focus assist function, lots of image controls and additional gammas, gain and autofocus in progressive modes.

100B added overscanning viewfinder, lower image noise, lots of stuff.

Hi, Im Thomas. Im new. Doesnt the 100B offer external menu buttons as well? I'm told it makes it a lot faster to set up shots. I've only played with the 100a model a few times though. Also, This camera is a standard in Indie film making, But I've had several salesman tell me the camera is a bit dated. lots of people are investing in HD cams now.
 
No button changes from the 100A to 100B, they use the same buttons and controls.

The DVX is a standard, and has been a standard, and DVX films have been nominated for Oscars. But yes it's been around a while too. It's not HD; if someone needs HD, the DVX isn't it. But it still does what it does very well, well enough to have five DVX-shot films simultaneously in the theaters in 2005...
