New GH1 Firmware Released?

Camera Body Version 1.3 installed as New.
I have been trying to update the firmware of my camera for a week using Ptools v3.36, v3.37d and now v3.40d with out success. (see thread 'cannot upgate GH1 firmware').
I now realise that from new the camera has installed camera body Ver 1.3 and Lens Ver 1.2 (14-140 lens). The camera is band new from a large company, is not a 'grey' import and has not previosly had the formware updated. Is this version preventing Ptool from being used?

Is there anyone out there who has successfully used Ptool with an original body Ver 1.3? (All user who have replied to me so far have started with lower versions)

The camera set up only states 'Body Ver 1.3' from new.

I need to know if anyone has successfully used PTool with this version (Camera Body Ver 1.3) installed from new. I know members have been able to use Ptool from an initial Ver 1.2 (or lower).

Thanks

I'm become more and more convinced that if your GH1 camera is supplied with Panasonics Ver 1.3 firmware you will NOT be able to use PTool to hack the firmware.

The camera was bought in the UK from Currys - two weks ago and the Cameras SET UP reports Camera Body Ver1.3 and it is proving impossible to update the firmware with PTool.
It could be possible that Panasonic are installing new versions of the firmware (say Ver1.33 which traps Hacked updates) - this is possible.

In order to disprove this I need just one member to confirm that thay have been able to use Ptool with a factory installed Ver1.3 firmware.

One member says that all cameras are released with Ver1.2. Does anyone else have a camera with a factory installed Ver1.3?

Sorry but I seem to have two threads running on this topic - apologies

Logic would say that if Panasonic released a firmware upgrade for the people that had the camera prior to that upgrade the cameras that are manufactured after that would have the upgrade done already when they come out. It is simple logic. The next upgrade would have a higher number! 134, 135, 1000 or whatever. But if new cameras can't be hack the owners are really doomed! They will miss something great in their lives!

Like I said if it doesn't work the new owners are doomed. All I know is Panasonic would automatically upgrade their newest cameras to their latest firmware before they hit the streets.

My recently purchased from ebay cam from Taiwan came with camera firmware 1.3. Used ptool 3.40 on my mac and just changed cam firmware to native 24p and the AVCHD settings per the "ptool firmware hack for dummies" thread. These are the only changes I made.

Using a transcend class 10 16gb card shooting the Pappas chart handheld with Canon FD lenses only. Mediainfo app of the MTS file displays 43 Mbps 1920x1080 23.976 on a over 2 minute shot of the Pappas star chart.

No problems, lockups, or whatever. ptool firmware went very smooth.

I don't think it would make sense for Panasonic to try and neutralize the hack, it would result in less sales. It is not as if someone would buy a more expensive Panasonic camcorder for the increased quality, they would just go buy a Canon instead.

It seems to me that if panasonic did indeed release new firmware they would broadcast it so that people would update... I can't remember what version of firmware was on my cam when I hacked it but I'm pretty sure it was 1.32.
