New FREE teleprompter software - check it out

well it looks like Anhar and I may embark on a quest to code the perfect teleprompter software for windows - in the meantime - any more feedback on easyprompter.com?

well the online one will still continue being developed (next major feature being a way to run it offline). the windows port is more of an exercise / for fun and cause a native app will give a lot more options for people that need it.
If I could do things like screen flipping and proportional font sizing in a browser, i would :)

Ok so a few weeks ago I needed a quick cheap laptop teleprompter solution that I didn't feel like paying for and after browsing for available solutions, I didn't like anything that was out there.. so luckily i happen to also code for a living so figured i'd write my own. also figured i'd write a web-based one . . .

Mike, really well done! Thanks for doing this!

Sorry for my ignorance, I was thinking you had to have an internet connection to execute an html file. this rocks...

no problem - this HTML is self-contained. It houses all the images and scripts that are required so that's why you don't need a connection or any other files. For the developers in the crowd - I particularly like how ridiculously unreadable that makes it :)

OK .. I just posted an update. couple things:

1 - the speed adjustment is more precise now - you should get about 3x the resolution in terms of timing.

2 - scroll wheel is now supported to adjust the speed of the prompter in real time

3 - compact version updated with these changes (so you'll have to download it again). Also, added a link to the compact version to "Check for updates." This will make it easier for those of you who are on the compact version to see if something new has been created without scouring the forums.

Note - you may need to refresh your browser cache in order to see some of these changes.

awesome

awesome

Thank you for this simple, elegant solution! this little 4k size file ROCKS !!!!
No idea why one would need a standalone version when this little .html file does the whole thing and works on all platforms and anywhere.
