Not yet. I have to setup everything for these speedwing videos first. I don't want to get too much stuff at once as I need to sort through a little slower and make sure each piece fits into the same puzzle -- As much as possible anyway
Pretty sure it will be the Wilderness setup though, unless something better shows up. I like the $500 price range pretty good, so it would have to stay somewhere in there.
Also still need a matte box and at least a good ultra polarizing and maybe a UV filter. Really don't like the $1500 or so I'm looking at there. Has to be good stuff though. Might have to look harder at the CAVISON setup I guess.
Rodger look on Ebay for an Arri mattebox. You cant beat them and if your lucky you may find one for that price. I screwed myself kinda because in the last week I have looked everywhere for a good mattebox, and I am a little spoiled because usually production coughs up enough $$ to rent the arri. Now everything seems to not do.
I am looking at the Petroff though, it looks nice and takes panavision filters, for a decent price. Problem is I cant find anyone that sells them let alone has used one.
Cinequip or Imagegear in Toronto both carry Petroff. I've been looking into one myself. Haven't been able to get much feedback also. Keep me posted on what you find.
The Petroff seems really cool. I like the idea you can add multiple stages..although I don't know how many you can get away with before you start vignetting. I also don't think the box will work with the Panasonic Anamorphic lens...the openings on Petroff's 4x5 is only 110mm and their 5x5 is 136mm both round openings. :-/
Aluminum and Plastic. The rods and adapter and riser is all machined out of aluminum. I used plastic for the sunshade and filter stage to keep down on weight and avoid scratching the filters. I milled the plastic parts from those cutting boards they sell at the dollar store.. the stuff mills like butter but is very strong.
