Would you be in agreement that if the LUT is not instant on/off then the WFM/Histo should represent the base file? - I would be strongly of that opinion ie if I am viewing a LUT 'all day' then my WFM/H need to represent the base recorded file.
When I did the Ali Chap workshop I was quite confused on finding the true raw clip point - currently that seems only to be known by using the lowest ISO in cineEI mode and checking the zebras
It is the same (AFAIK) with Red - you only get a true histo when at 320 - this is not too practical for monitoring dark scenes as you have a choice of viewing a faux histo or a very dark image - which is not really good enough
These are all good/valuable comments. You should copy and past them on the Sony forum to be sure that Sony's people see them. I know they occasionally lurk here, but I think it's worth the trouble.
Looks like firmware V2 is delayed until the end of the week which is not surprising considering the enhanced features it brings to the F5/55. I'm bummed but can wait. Some others are none too happy.
I can also wait but it does mean a delay of my camera arriving so one more shoot with the C300. No worry, and happy to have the F55 show up with v 2.0 next week.
I agree Nate, better we keep talking camera functions and how to keep it productive in our businesses. Always appreciate your input here and other forums.
Very excited to be adding this to my kit and being with Sony again.
