F55: New Film with F55

So far it is the best I have seen out of the F5 and 55 from actual users on a real job. Most of what I've seen is so soft that it makes my outdate F3 look awesome.
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

Not sure what others are seeing, but as a camera test I thought it excellent. Large range of colours, fine detail and lighting. Shot by pro's. They also did similar with the BMC not too long ago (look on the Vimeo channel).

it does look video like, not really film, Alexa, which is OK, if that's the look was intended, lots of comedy shot with similar look, "Parks and Recreation" for example. Not everything has to look like "Breaking bad".
my question is the gamma, second example I see lots of extra pink, magenta in the shots. What was gamma settings, post workflow here?

I couldn't call those images 'attractive', but technically, the camera seems to render them fine.

I posted this film not for its content or finish. I post it because I think it gives a better idea of what the camera is able to do. I specially like the look of the Arri lenses.

Part of this new-school clinical look I think is from just pulling the blacks down on SLog footage and adding saturation. And then adding a "look" from that starting point.

There's no midtone contrast, not like a proper gamma correction you'd get in a LUT, anyway. I know I'm LUT this and LUT that, a broken record with this stuff, but I'm definitely over the barely color corrected log-gamma look.

What's that? Look sharp?

Anyway, few grabs with midtone contrast applied:

I suppose you can disagree whether or not it looks "better" but at least it looks more like, say, the Black Magic first short they posted.

You misses my point again. "not for its content or finish"
Some one else posted a 4K were the camera should have shine, but it was so soft that it was really disappointing to see. This was professionally shot for a real job with real cinema lenses. I can see what the camera can do in a real job.
I personally don't like EU grading style as I am sure they don't like my grading. I understood why people in different areas of the world have different taste in colors and sharpness when lived in Connecticut. In Connecticut I understood what they were talking about when I was studying photography when they talked about a north facing window light. Here in Florida we are most of the time 3 f stops hottest that the rest of the world. The sun is mostly right on top and there is hardly any haze. That makes everything sharper, brighter color and a lot more contrasty.
It is just a fact of life, but when judging a camera all of it is secondary as long as the camera can do it all.
This is what I like to do in grading. It is my taste and it is what my clients like. (Shot with F3 internal S-Log. The coldest day of the winter season).

Edit: After watching more from this cinematographer I have to take my hat off to him. If you are a run & gun videographer you will never get it. This guy is a cinematographer, check this other video. https://vimeo.com/61543401

I also took Nate's RAW Disney Ranch to practice on Resolve. Thanks Nate for posting. This is another good example of the camera's capabilities. If it had people in it, it would have been awesome to judge skin tones. I also notice a little magenta cast in some of the highlights. I didn't do any color grading other than one effect that I was playing with.
