This was assignment is called "Key Drop" where basically you have to have the theme of curtousy and someone has to lose or drop something such as their "keys" and someone has to be curtious enough to give them back...kinda lame, i put a sweet touch on it http://www.stokedonlife.com/raddrew/

Awesome!!!!.
What did you use to edit, did you use a 35mm adapter and any color correction software? Oh yeah, what cam. did you use?

Hey,
I just shot on the dvx, nothing special, no lens. I usually shoot with my teleohoto on, more shallow DOF. But for some reason i didn't this time, it turned out nice. I edited on fcp. Glad you liked it man. I think its pretty dope for being made in 2 days. My schools pretty nuts. A film due everyweek. I love it though

You can chck out my 101 final. the first class was based on telling stories through images with a 35mm still camera, heres my final... http://stokedonlife.com/raddrew/MPV.htm

Dude, if you are given the top of the top equipment, I think you can really do some damage to the film world.

That was some nice still film. I paused on the dead bodies stills and the props was really really good.

Keep up the good work. You also have some nice lightning techniques. I really feel if you have a very well, I mean a very sick story line, (script) then give yourself a feature and head to the sundance man!. I see you in the top 5!.

i like your poker video, the only thing i was not a huge fan of was the constant refocusing, got a tad too busy every now and then with the out of focus, in focus, especially when the subject was outside.

I agree with this. I like how you took the assignment further then probably what most did though. The other thing that bothered me a lot was the forced handheld, it looked less like a handheld shot and just a cameraman rocking back and forth. Look nice though, very good lighting.

Nice.........

Thought the lighting at the poker table was great....... I think I know the look/effect you were trying to achieve.... well done.

Dude man that was really good. Nice composition, framing. Im realizing that I need a newer monitor because my refresh rate isnt keepin up with your video - some of those outside shots that moved real fast I couldnt really see - but its my monitors fault. Really great stuff. Keep posting!

Great work man! What was that NIN song you used at the begining and end of your 101 final, the middle was "Into the Void" I know that but I cant quite place the first and last one.

Drew,
First of all, nice work for a two day?!?! timeline. Nice use of set and light.
Crit points. Too much with the movement of the camera. Considering the nature of the story, I would have chosen very steady, very purposeful dollies, maybe a crab behind the actors head while looking at his opponent? I would save the "handheld" look for action or a situation in which the focus of the shot is not so specific.
Again, very nice piece. Keep it up and keep them guessing what's next.

Awesome stuff.
That 35mm short was incredible, shot composition, editing, everything was top notch.

Congrats, I hope you did very well on this.

Pretty slick stuff, I'm sure it impressed the hell out of your class.

I'd echo some of the comments about the overly aggressive handheld. There were also a few shots where I think you pushed your vignetting effect too far. Those are both pretty minor comments, though.

A more major comment is that I really couldn't get into your lead. The other guys were good, but the lead was a serious weak link as far as I'm concerned. But hey, on short notice, still pretty well handled!

I just watched it and I thought it was great. I second everything said before and one thing I did notice was in the scene with the poker table the Sound effects like him dropping his keys or putting his hand on the table were way louder than their voices.
Also the acting right before he threw his cellphone down wasn't that convicing to me. He seems a little to calm and collect for someone who's "dead"
