Hey Guys,

In preproduction on a great new short I'll be directing called "Rot". Just wanted to get started early creating awareness about the project and this pretty cool marketing site I'm going to give a try called IndieGOGO. Check out my films page on it and see if you might be able to use it for your own films in the future... and if you feel like helping ours out a little for some swag, please do, it would be appreciated more than you could imagine!

Oh and by the way, pitch clip shot on GH1!

Also just curious... has anyone or will anyone use this as a tool for fundraising or otherwise for the film and has it worked or do you think it will work? Mine total is still at $0 right now but I haven't finished the homepage yet and there fore haven't been promoting it like crazy yet.

Okay so, 285 views... one response... Now I want to know why nobody feels like talking about this... do you feel like its a fad, that its just another dude who wants to make a movie, or that simply if you have 10 bucks to spare you might as well use it on your own movie? Just curious, all reasons are completely legit...

I haven't started promoting this like crazy using all outlets available to me, so I was hoping to get some feedback on the turn ons and turn offs for people of this site... and if you get specific about my page thats cool too!

If I were inclined to fund films, I think my number one concern would be whether you can produce something of high quality. I don't know anything about indiegogo. Would you be able to put up a demo reel? Also, more information about the script would probably help bring people on board. A great concept can be ruined by a lousy script.

Anyway, good luck with this. Let us know when the page is more fleshed out.

Maybe I am too stupid, but I cannot find any further information (like you stated "Check out my films page on it") other than the project you are mentioning.

The only information about that project seem to be three lines of text, which are very general and not too fascinating. If you want to raise funds that way, I guess you should try to be more specific with your project.

Thats my point of view - please don't get this too negative. Maybe we are the wrong audience as well - we want to discuss technical stuff, and show each other our recent work, not discuss a hint at something in the future.

best regards, Gunther

GMC not at all... both you and iain have brought something super glaring to my attention that I can't believe I didn't notice. In selling this film, I'm not really selling it, I'm selling myself, more specifically my ability to make the film well. So not only are you right about there not being enough information about exactly what the film is about, there's nothing to support the fact that I am capable of making this film great. So in the end this was exactly what I was looking for... thanks guys! And I will keep you up to date on whether or not this is actually I viable tool for raising funds.

Also if you want to convince people you can shoot high quality footage then every video you post should be the highest quality you can possibly achieve.

Asking for my support in standard definition is like asking me in a language I don't speak. I frankly just don't understand it.

I gotta disagree with that man... showing previous work or a teaser trailer for the film to promote investment, yes, as high quality as possible... but a little one take clip of someone thanking people for viewing the page, come on.

Apparently he does. Dont worry, hes propably just jealous of your script ^^

I agree qith the ones before me, somebody who could produce your movie would most likely want to know a lot more details of what you are planning to do. I just saw your directors reel, there are a few interesting shots, but it seems to me that there are different storys cut together and there is no correlation in between them. This is in fact purpose of reels, ( also the music), but it unfortunately offers no proof of your filmmaking skillz to a possible financier. Where can we see a complete film of yours ?
Anyway, the script sounds interesting, and im curious about how you will visualize the rotten arms...

sry for ma bad english and greetz from germany
