We just locked picture on “Crossing Acheron,” a “Sixth Sense” meets “28 Days Later” horror we shot on the DVX100. I have just one thing to say about the camera – it ROCKS! All the footage looks great, and indistinguishable from 16mm. You can check out our temp trailer at http://www.crossingacheron.com.

We'll have our sound mixed, and a track scored by early March. Till then, we’ll be updating our site with clips.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Weird... for some reason is not playing on my Mac. It says is missing a component and that is not available in the Quicktime server. :o

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

??? i cant see it either , just get a picture of a broken QT logo (i'm on a PC)

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Ooops. I'll have my website guy take care of that ASAP. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

I got it to work, but I had to right click and down load it. It looks really good, definatly one I will be waiting to see. I just wish that the preview's sound wasn't so compressed, it is almost to the point where it starts detracting from what you are watching. I know that the actual sound is much much better.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Indistinguisible from 16mm???

Have you ever seen true 16mm?

This camera has very good quality, but is an electronic image, wich you can clearly see in all pics posted in this forum. 16mm (and all film formats) have an organic look and a different feeling.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

This point is mute, tired and played out.

It depends whose behind the camera. I'd put money on a true professional displaying their skills with the DVX and you wouldn't even be able to tell.

:)

Hey all. Sorry about the issues with the trailer playing. The problems have been fixed though, it should work great now!!!!

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Working now, looks great.Love the shot of the bluehallway and the person/shadow walking...also looking through the blinds. 8)

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Okay, it worked!!

Awsome stuff... i like your camera movement in the opening.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Thanks for the cool words everyone! As for camera movement, I wanted to give specific scenes a "Shield"-like quasi-documentary feel, so we would light the scene the way you do for film (key light, fill, backlight), then use a "floating" camera style to capture the footage.

Thanks again!

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

Hey everyone. I've got my website guy tweeking with the resolution to get us a trailer that will download faster, while still maintaing a nice image. Should have something up by Friday.

Re: New Feature shot on DVX100

We've got the new Quicktime trailer posted. The resolution is way better, and we used a more common compression.
