New fashion film shot entirely on A7s + a ronin... High success!

Hi people, I wanted to show you my latest work as a director. It´s part of a classic shoe store´s online campaign, it was a success in it´s youtube diffusion and now I´m sharing my director´s version on Vimeo.

It´s shot on a A7s, 80% of the shots are travellings in a DJI Ronin and the rest by hand, with no rigging... The dop and I wanted to create an authentic piece and those shots by hand had to be moved, not stabilized, vibrating. We used a bunch of old zeiss lenses...

Guess what camera profile did we use?

Enjoy it and any feedback will be very welcome!

Thanx,

Looks awesome. I'm guessing PP6 since it's mentioned in the comments :)

I assume you mean the default settings for PP6? Which gamma curve is that? PP6 could be any custom PP settings if they were adjusted. It can be a bit confusing to say which PP slot you used since any slot could be used to store any group of settings. Sounds like SLOG2 may have been used for some of the higher contrast portions?

Thanks a lot everybody for your feedback.
Samuel, hola! Haces cosas por madrid? No te tengo fichado

Nyvz, we used PP6 at its default settings for all the shooting except for a shot, the one at second 22, there we used pp7 because of the high dynamic range on the scene.

Looks great! Did you use Exakta Zeiss lenses?

Ryan, I don´t remember exactly what Zeiss lenses the DOP used, I think they was Contax Yashica mount Zeiss lenses, but don´t remember the models. Thanks!

Yes, I'm an a7S shooter in Madrid. :)
But it's mostly for fun, I work on something else.

In case you're interested: most of what I shoot is stuff with cosplayers (people who make and wear awesome costumes of their favorite characters from movies and videogames), e.g. this or this or this. I use an a7S with vintage Leitz glass for the Leica-R mount, and have a Nebula 4000 too.

I've also shot another project that's a lot more high-end, using blackmagic cameras, but it's taking ages to come out, the directors are the VFX guys and they are way beyond perfectionists. Anyday now, I hope...

Loved the grading!

Could have used a little bit of post stabilization tho... saw a number or jitters.

Was that music Interstellar? :)

Top notch, great concept. I really enjoyed this piece. I love the look/grade @ 07....on the stairs. Also the skateboarder.

saw a number or jitters.
Yeah there were a few bumps that took me out of the moment.

Question though: I'm confused with one of the subtitles. What does 'essential when you stroke' mean? Did something get lost in translation?

Very nicely done!!

A Ronin is a little heavy handed for an A7S but it looked great on the smooth follow shots
