New EVF from Cineroid

I guess the question is whether this will be any different than the alfatronics.
I did try the alfatronics recently and I must admit the picture was much better than my small HD4 EVF which in turn I think is better than the Zacuto.

I found opposite... I am keeping SmallHD evf until something awesome comes along... Alphatronic is not that. Especially for the price...

Hey Doug, how are things? A little off topic but what zoom lens are you using on your F3? You like me have a PDW-800 and I still try to keep my ENG work on this camera but when I can like to try my F3. I often look at my 800 footage and wonder why I even mess around with other cameras! Sparky

Things are good!
I almost never shoot with a zoom on the F3. I am shooting 99% on primes with my set of Cine-Xenars, Sony Primes, and a RED 300mm T2.9.
The only zoom lens I occassionally use is a 50-150mm f/2.8 Sigma that is a good solution for interviews where I might need to quickly change the focal length or even do a "live" zoom. But that lens is ONLY for an occasional interview and nothing else. The rest of the time I am shooting with primes.

Steve,
I'm astonished you saw only a tiny difference between the small HD and the Alfatron. One of my biggest gripes with the smallHD is that it blooms even on flesh tones and its just hard to read exposure very well. The Alphatropn just looked much more like a a normal detailed image to me .

I looked through the Alfatron at a show and it looked pretty bad. It suffers from the same magnification issue as the other ones. The diopter magnifies too much so you see the single pixels and that's very distracting. It's not just the resolution but a combination of resolution and the viewing distance.
But I see a lot of folks just buy based on specs and numbers. That's fine but don't be surprised at a disappointing performance.
The smoothest looking one was the filmo-technic- they got the magnification/resolution combo right.
That's if it ever sees the light of day as a product....

I Have 1 x zacuto, 1 x cineroid metal and 3 x the alphatron
i have to said cineroid metal is not bad
(all have been calibrated with calman 5)
Zacuto does not give a a good exposure acuracy (craches the black/ clipping the high)
Alphatron : has give me somewhat a good calibration for a EVF ' But Lack a good focus assist / sharpness)
cineroid : a bit less acurate calibration but not bad , a good set of tool, But an awful eyecup (the fix for the eyecup is to always use disposable "chamois" Eyecup
(need to said that the battery plate from cineroid was flimsy)
i havent got time to update the alphatron

but if i was to buy another one i think i woud give a try with the new cineroid
hope that help

I have the new Cineroid and after having a faulty unit and some back and forth issues with the weird hdmi signal from the fs100, which 3DBroadcastsales along with SoonGi from Cineroid fixed... I am now ready to vouch for it.
Excellent piece of EVF with dual waveform and all the works in a nice solid package.

only two issues I have with it is the PC firmware software since im on Mac and that batteries dont lock in place. It sems secure enough though.
All in all Im pretty happy with my new 4RVW

Sits nice on my frankenrig :-)
