New dvx100B user with basic questions...

Hi Everyone,

I shot a few projects on 24P, when editing with FCP is there a specific setting to capture with that enhances the quality? I'm used to editing 60i on an older camera.

Also, for future shoots: I am still unsure on the 24p and the 24pA setting. If I am shooting something that will most likely be put on someones website, what settings would you recommend for best quality? I havent messed to much with the coring and that stuff because I'm unfimilar on whats best in those settings. And if I wanted something in widescreen (besides purchasing the adaptor) do you recommend the 16:9 setting or the stretch?

One last thing... I'm very unskilled with compressing video's for the internet. What is the best method you can suggest, I am having a hard time finding the perfect formula, all my web video's are very pixelated.

Thank you for your time. I am trying to learn so I really do appreciate it!

well...as far as the widescreen is concerned, shoot squeeze...it gives you the best 16:9 resolution without the adaptor and you can still see it as letterboxed in the viewfinder...shooting it in letterbox is different, you would only be using 2/3 of the ccd...

if you are shooting 24p there is only one way that you should capture this footage just the way you would capture any other footage same quality anyway. as far as quality there is really no difference in quality between 24p and 24pa the only thing is if you would like to edit and output to 24p you would have to shoot in 24pa and capture with asvance pulldown removal

when you say 16:9 or stretch i am assuming you mean squeeze and letterbox there are many arguments i say shoot squeeze that way you can actually see what is in frame and you can output to widescreen if you wanted to.

and for your compression if you are using a site like youtube there is no right or wrong way because they are going to compress your video like crazy but they have that new high quality think what i like to do is upload leterboxed 640x480
