New DVX Question

I am obviously missing the obvious....but....formatted two new SanDisk 128SDXC1 Class 10 U3 cards in the camera...initially to upgrade firmware....REC function is crossed out and camera will not record????? Thanks for any assistance.....also tried a 64 SDXC1 Class 10 U1 card

Yes I did! Thank you Barry!!!! so does an external recorder need to be attached to use 10 bit out? btw thanks for your books, advice, etc.

Barry, If the camera is configured to output 10-bit 422 to an external recorder, does the camera not also record 8-bit internally to the SDXC cards? Can the camera do both at same time?

No, she cannot do it. You have to decide what you want, internal in 8-bit or external in 10-bit. But this and some more you can read in the manual which is delivered with the cam.

Correct: it is either internal 8-bit 4:2:0 combined with external 8-bit 4:2:2 output, or it is external 10-bit 4:2:2 output with no internal recording.

Bummer. It would be nice to simultaneously record 10-bit externally and use the 8-bit internal recording as a backup.
