Hello,

It's been a while since I posted on this site. Anyways just thought I'd let you know my film "Objects Of Wrath" is now available on Netflix if anyone would like to check it out. It was shot on the original DVX100.

Congrats Perception...how long did it take you to film it?

I can't comment on the actual film, since I have not seen it, but..

the trailer didn't make me want to see it at all.

perhaps it is just my own personal taste.. but i hate trailers with title cards explaining what the movie is about... but that is just my own personal thing..

two things I notice in the trailer... it would seem that your using all production sound.. no ADR or anything? it is really noticeable.

second, everything is in focus.. every shot has huge DOF... there isn't any "punch" to the images, or any attempt to lead the eye to a focal point.. but perhaps that is just the selection of shots for the trailer.

again, all based off only the trailer of course.

I have a DVD I am selling online that was shot with the original DVX100 called East Coast Customs. You can view the 60 second trailer at:

The DVD won't be ready for sale online until possibly next week.

DVX100Shooter,
You should make a new post on yours...

No doubt. That was the gnarly threadjack. Damn. :smiley_do :thumbdown

It took about 2 months to film. Mostly because of Actors schedules and finding locations.

I know the trailer needs some work. I'm still working on it.

Congrats Perception on the Netflix thing, although the trailer definately didn't grab my attention. The colors seemed really dull, and the trailer took a wierd gangsta rap turn at the end. I saw the gangstas, but your main character kind of disappeared. Is he the one in the jail cell? I couldn't really tell. Also, the bible quote stayed on the screen for too long. Obviously so people could read it, but maybe you should paraphrase it. These are all just my stupid opinions, and I don't have any films available anywhere so there you go. tim.

I'd recut the trailer mixing in the gansta footage through out with the title cards and with the characters desire to become a pastor. Maybe losing his job is his road to that, which I guess it is or maybe he has another lesson that he learns.

Yes do some color correction, it did seem a little flat, but I think the actors where good.

thats a way to be a good sport with the creative criticism!

looking forward to seeing your movie! congrats.

The biggest problem I noticed in the trailer was the sound. It almost sounded like the camera mic was used. Very hollow sounding. The scene where he puts his head into his hands and there is silence, you can hear what sounds like air conditioning room noise.

Congrats on the NetFlix deal though.

I know the sound wasn't the greatest in some of the office scenes. I had no access to the air conditioning to turn it off. I did my best to reduce the noise with Sony Noise reduction software. The look of the office is what I was going for. I wanted his work to be dull. He works a dead end job. Lots of nice colors would not be right for this situation. Another thing the trailer is very compressed. The scenes look better on the DVD. It is a 24p DVD and I used the highest bit rate that I could, so the DVD looks good. I played it on a huge screen at Church and was amazed at the quality from the DVX. Thanks again for all the feedback.

"This is distributed by Perception Films which claims to be a producer of "Christian Films" and is run by the Religious Right who are waging an all out war to take over this country and turn us all into Stepford Freaks! Beware! Stay away!"
(reviewer on netflix who admits to not having seen the film)

is this true? is this some sort of right wing mind control tool? are you part of the military-industrial complex?
maybe you should put a warning on the cover. lol

no, this movie is not some kinda mind control thing. i think the intention is to tell a story and give people hope with direction.
