New DVX Local Commercial

[Final Design Studios]

I love local commercials. Especially when I see them sandwiched up against other local ads. Because then it really lets me know how I stand against the other studios in town.

I'm happy to report this one did better than others, but I still don't care for it. I really want to see what you guys think of this.

Don't know. I didn't handle that. Just concept and editing. Left that up to the big cheese in the office with a window. (I have a window too, but the view sucks ;D)

I think that it was cool but from a person who has done a number of tv spots, you won't be helping the buyer

Are you talking about the titles? My perferred cut of the ad was different in titles only. I can't stand the "clang!" feel of the current ones. But I didn't win that battle. Someday I will make my own stuff I swear it will be perfect!!!!!! (or at least until the client rips it apart ;D)

Oh yeah, we got rap in alaska, we a bunch of albino fools. (seriously, no one is tan up here) I just got a spear from the village, tomorrow I kill a polar bear so the tribe can eat, and I can gain my status of manhood and take a bride ;D

Pretty funny, and very good for a local. My only constructive criticism would be that the shots of the woman eating are too dark, and the title in the beginning "Don't you wish you had..." is too long and on the screen too short, no normal person will be able to read it the first time. Actually, I think the commercial would be fine (better) without it even there. The clangs didn't bother me too much, gets your attention and emphasizes what the company sells. Overall nice job!

Yeah in my personal cut I had the title at the end. and let the music play a little longer. Then I took out the clangs and put in a swoosh and had the titles sweep in the from the left and out the right. That was my favorite cut.
