New DVX 100b User needs to ask a Question.

When I'm uploading footage from the dvx 100b (Mini tape) to the PC with a fire-wire Cable. I use Adobe Premiere Cs4 to edit the footage.

My Main Question is what Preset Sequence should I be using to edit?
 
Ask over in the Premiere section. I am a Final Cut user, but I would think DV-NTSC, then either 4:3 or 16:9 if you shot squeeze or with the anamorphic adapter.
 
depends on what u shoot in

DVntsc is if u shoot 29.97
then u have the options of "standard" or "widescreen". choose standard if u shoot in 4:3 or letterbox and choose widescreen if u shoot squeeze.

dv24p is if u shoot in 24p or 24pa
and again u have the standard and widescreen options that are the same as above.

Anyone u choose though u should pick the 48hz sound.
 
Is it bad to mix 24p and 29.97 on the same tape (basically, F2 and F5 on the wheel)? We had to mix them to get a decent result with lighting conditions... is that going to be an issue when capturing?

Shooting two different scene files on the same tape is not an issue. Everything the DVX records is natively 29.97 regardless of it being 30p, 24p or 24pA.
