New DVX 100 user

so glad I found this site....
Just bought a nused DVX 100 and can't wait to start playing around with it. Really interested in movie making as a hobby....want to learn it all....

I did run camera for cnn back in 1987...that's about the extent of my understanding.

I did buy some nice mics etc.....

Question is: How should I start, anyone recommend a book, should I take class?

I do have final cut express.....no alittle....

really just gettting started here

Read the posts on the forum. You will find them VERY helpful. Also don't forget to experiment on your own.
 
Only way to get better at making movies is to make movies. So just go at it and you'll learn along the way and pick up information.
 
Welcome to the community. I've shot weddings and some light corporate stuff for years using decent consumer grade cameras. I finally had a chance to get a REAL camera and I recently bought a DVX100B. i Love this camera. I finally have something that will take time to learn and master. Anyway, like others have said, Barry's book is great and the people on here are helpful. And shoot, shoot, shoot and have fun.
P.S. The 24PA is really cool. It is one of my favorite features of this camera!
