New direction for Nikon.

Or it could just be for something like an EX3. There's nothing in there to suggest a camera with a large sensor or still-taking capability.

I know that, and I don't see what the relevance is for a DSLR forum. The patent doesn't necessarily imply any new cameras. At best, it might suggest that Nikon is considering development of an ENG camera, like the EX3, not a large-sensor hybrid camera. This sort of speculation really doesn't belong in the D90 forum.
 
I don't know, I have a friends that works for Nikon and he's convinced whatever they're working on is going to blow people away.

fwiw i have several friends who work at nikon, and quite high up in the european organization, and they say japan never tells them anything at all until it's time to market the new product. sure they might think the next thing will be awesome but they know about as much as nikonrumors.
 
BTW (and sorry to be off-topic), the phrase "new direction" sounds like another, rather dirty phrase. Think about it. :tongue:
