what do you guys think of this setup for editing ex1r footage?

2. Intel i7 Processor

5. Nvidia Quadro PNY Technologies FX 1800 PCIE - Graphic Card

Which i7 processor? I would not consider anything less than the 980, so you'll be somewhat obsolescence-proof for a year.
How much RAM?
 
Clock speeds are much higher and 2 extra cores. 6 cores, 12 threads. Might almost be enough muscle to edit AVCHD in fact. Should be comfortable with XDCam footage in MPEG2, even multicamera edits.
 
I'd suggest going with the i7 930 for now (for $290) and upgrade to the 980 (going for $900+) down the road, as your motherboard does support the upcoming cpus based on 1366 socket

Unless you are working on 3D, I would suggest getting a cheaper GTX series video card against the Quadro. Get a SSD hard drive for booting (a 128GB should suffice) and use the HDD you listed for editing (get the Black Caviar)
