new circular sensor

I love that sentence:

The circular image also ideally matches a huge number of popular photo uses, from DVD labels to coasters. And the best thing about circular photo frames is that you won’t have to hang them straight.’

Is that the PR department trying to justify the development of the mad scientists?

Gee! Gosh! How original...Oh wait. Did not the original camera made by George Eastman, that took a 100 pictures also shoot a circular image on film. And I believe that Fox-Talbot first photos were also circular.

A big advantage with such a circular sensor in a video camera is that combined with a motion sensor or just a stick with a weight attached to the camera one can always have correct leveling when cropping to the rectangular video frame so goodbye to leaning shots. Of course it will be difficult to intentionally shoot upside-down but I'm sure they can figure out a solution to that little problem.

(Nice 1st of April joke though)
