New Canon survey about video functions

Agreed. Sticky Please.
And as a matter of opinion, I find it a little strange on Canon's part to issue a survey now, as if they hadn't already recieved any feedback.
I'm led to believe that all the previous requests we've made were just considered a knock on their door. Now that they've finally answered the door, this is basically just a polite gesture to let us know we have their attention.

This really seems like an answer to the onslaught of phone calls to the call center from the "Call Canon" campaign. A digital survey is MUCH cheaper to have in operation than the rep's time on the call. So I incourage the users of this board that think the survey was a good idea to look at the Call Canon thread again (refrain from posting how pointless an endeavor it is), and call if you haven't already called this week.

Thanks.

I've heard from a good source that firmware for 7D is being tested and now CR also posted about 5D2 & 7D firmware rumor.

This is the BEST chance we have to CALL CANON and also do the survey.
But CALLING CANON is essential, it makes it much more REAL and personal, so it's really important.

Only doing the survey is not as "real" as calling, because even non-resident people can do it and do many times too (as some did, and in fact we did that too, Better Canon get a clear answer of HOW MUCH we are interested on the 5D2 update...)

We must not let this moment get away, it is the best time to take BOTH actions.

Just tried to do survey

Just tried to do survey

I tried to do the survey and I got this message.

" We have reached the required number of responses for this survey.
Thank you for your interest in taking our survey."

So I guess you guys were heard load and clear. I thank those of you that took the time to speak up, I hope it gets us what we want.

Well damn, that's good news...I think, I hope.
It was only there for a couple days.
If one weren't so optimistic, the assumption could be made that they removed the survey simply because they don't have the personnel to process all that data, and they removed it and assumed the influx in responses was an orchestrated spam attack.

I'm sorry I didn't find this thread in time for the survey. Strange that the survey was only open for so short a time. I wonder how many responses is considered 'enough' and whether it is indicative of the full video population.

At least canon made the attempt to listen and I hope for more efforts like this in the future.

EDIT:
great thread BTW, thanks for posting it fates

No problem guys. Sorry for those that did not have a chance to voice their opinions. Oh, but wait, don't let the fact that the on-line survey is down.

Pick up that caveman phone and call 1-800-828-4040 to continue "taking the survey."
