New cage for FS-100

Just saw this today from Letus. Kinda interesting. They also have the EVF mounting similar to solicamera.

anyone try this one yet?
 
Looks terrific, and only $500 too. It'd certainly make me feel a little more comfortable tossing the FS100's (admittedly) somewhat fragile-feeling body, around on set.
 
with this design, i can feel comfortable to use any kind of top mount handle since i don't put any stress on the camera.
 
Actually, to me it looks a little, um, pointless?

I don't get the obsession with cages lately. If the thing doesn't have any proper mounting points like on an HDSLR then fine, cage away. But the FS100 has a bunch of mounting options already. Solid Camera's device adds a beefier lens mount system as well as a top handle and an adjustable viewfinder mount. Three useful and needed functions. What does this cage actually get you?
 
I use the Berkey plate on my FS100 and I like that I am not wearing out the holes on the FS100 by adding and removing things, which I do as I change the kit around. Plus, I use their handles and such with the FS100 because, frankly, the grip Sony designed is HORRIBLE.

What I do like is the EVF holder here, which I've seen other people show as well. I use Noga arms right now, but I've broken quite a few trying to keep them tight on a heavy LCD. Wonder if that piece alone would work on the Berkey plate.

agreed, just seems like added, un necessary bulk. There are better options out there that are more practical for more mounting options, Solid cam and Berkey being two.
 
or this can be the one in the middle. Solid cam for PL mount and Berkey for light weight rig. :) More choice for consumer.
