I have been on the lookout for ways to expand revenue.
I decided to shadow a municipal election candidate for mayor and convinced this person to include election issue videos on his web site. We have done three of these and will be doing one or two more.
The rationale behind this pro bono activity is there are only so many meet/greet sessions that can be held at private residences, only so much door knocking, weekly newspaper ads and probably not more than one "community center" meeting that can be set up/held in a 30-day election period. The videos are meant to augment this activity.
What is coming out of this is that the candidate seems to be leaning in the direction of using videos on an ongoing basis after the election as a preferred method of keeping residents (5,000 in the town) informed. I could end up wtih two short paying videos per month, possibly more.
Take a look at the candidate's web site and let me know if any of you have tried this before and if so, what were the results.

Notice there is a "sticky" video plus two below that can be launched by clicking.
