New 4k Panny 4k Camcorder

Looks like I'll be putting an order in for this soon - as my first properly owned camera, for video journalism, shooting events and corporate do's. Possibly weddings.

Unless anyone can convince me otherwise? Do we know what the HDMI out will provide yet?

I'll most likely be ordering this camera. I shoot mostly in bright light so I think this camera will work for me. I think I need a longer warranty though since the camera will be used about 15 hours a week often in harsh conditions.

What's the warranty on this one? A couple of years would be good. The low light capabilities do concern me slightly... but I imagine I would get a B-camera in the future to combat those situations, such as the A7s.

The warranty is 1yr parts 90 days labor, not reassuring for a $3500 purchase. I've purchased two Panasonic Pro cameras, HMC150 & AC90, Both have needed warranty service at some point.

The zoom out & record button on the handle failed after a few months. I just started having the EVF go black a couple times while recording. I bought the AC90 when it was first released. I shoot lots of short clips in the hot Southern Ca sun. Zoom & record are being activated hundreds of times a day .

Interesting! These are set for some heavy usage by inexperienced people..... Don't have to worry about the sun though - most likely rain here in the UK!
