Harness the power of iPhone and iPad with a moviemaking app that’s just as powerful. iMovie lets you create movies and Hollywood-style trailers that are simple to make and simply spectacular. And you can edit at resolutions up to a stunning 4K on iPhone 6s and iPad Pro. When you’re done, you can watch the final cut anywhere with iMovie Theater. A few taps, a few swipes, and you’re ready for your big premiere. Download iMovie for iOS free at the App Store.

Make your directorial debut. In 4K.

The 4K video you can shoot with iPhone 6s looks so amazing, you’ll want to share it with the world. With the new iMovie for iOS, you can create movies and send them to YouTube at 4K resolution with a few taps. And iPhone 6s is so powerful that you can smoothly edit two streams of 4K video to create effects like picture‑in‑picture and split screen — a challenge for many PCs.

Looks interesting.

"My phone shoots 4K video. Why can't your camera?"

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw this.

Right or wrong, this will drive civilians to believe a camera that is only 1080p is "less than" and 4k is now a much more powerful marketing term. 4k TV adoption rates will probably skyrocket and folks will want to watch things shot in 4k.

Also I didn't think the video looked all that great...

Now, if moondog labs makes a good anomorphic adaptor for it, I'm going to get one of these.

Sweet, I'm due for an upgrade. Good timing.

Is it sad that my first entry into 4K land is with my phone??

Welcome to 2013.... My 2 year old Nokia 1520 windows phone shoots 4K with 5.1 audio and has a 20MP optically image stabilized camera.... And I can edit the videos on the phone and upload right to YouTube... gee... Nice to see Apple catch up even if it's a couple years later.

Now if only Apple would make the cameras useful in low light. They can throw all the pixels in the world at their camera but if they look like hamburger in low light they still look bad. Only potential here is that scaling the 4k down to HD might improve the quality and noise a bit. Companies need to stop chasing pixels and focus on high quality clean images in many different situations.

When Apple does it the whole world takes notice and millions of people buy it and it becomes mainstream. The average person didn't even know your phone existed; this was on CNN today...

Yeah, but until Apple does it, the masses don't care. NOW 4K matters…

Actually Apple is one of those few brands that was not chasing pixel count. The reason they've updated it from 8MP to 12MP is 4K I guess. What people said: 4K is going mainstream. If you own 4K camera- good times for you are about to begin :)
