New 35mm adapter

OK but next come here to say something.

BTW what's your constructive opinion about all these adapters that maybe you have been following?

Dude, I think you're being Unnecessarily hard on unix.

so this is a little tube and I place the lens of my choice in front? doesn't the g35 look like this as well?

i have a tamron long lens that fits nikon d pentax and cannon mounts...that should be ok right?

edit: nevermind, I just realized my mom's tamron lens is horrible...

I hope the FD mounts don't take too long after the first units start shipping. God, I'm curious about the GoHD.

yeah, I'm anxious to see some footy from the HD too, but trust in Jim. Look at how fast he's moving already.

(rawfa- you shooting with another adapter right now?)

I tried the Letus35 (regular, non A version) and I was not pleased with it at all. It was too grainy and soft (I tried with A LOT of different light setups, camera setups, lenses). I wrote Qyen Lee recentely to find out if the new version can handle HD well but I dind't get any answer. For me so far there's nothing better than the G35 and Redrocks' adapter (the G35 has the advantage in my opinion because it's mobile), but more and more people are getting into the bussiness and coming out with very acceptable and afordable solutions. The good thing about adapters that are more afordable is that you can buy them just to try them out (and hopefuly like it of course). But if you buy stuff for 1000$ it's kind of a kick in the nuts if you come to the conclusion it's not your visual style. I liked the footage I've seen here and Bklyndv said that he expects his HD version will produce simlar results to the G35...all I can say is good luck Bklyndv...it's hard to beat the king...but everything is possible ;-)

Anyone putting any kind of adapter in front of the DVX100 without a support is playing with fire. I have already seen the lens assembly of a 100 fall apart when a matt box and a wide angle adapter were hit. When I post my adapter you'll see a Bogen lens support holding the whole thing together. It only adds a slight amount of weight.

I think it's no secret the demand for the G35 is high, and the reason is the proof in the footage. If not the overall king, they're certainly the ones to beat for static adapters. Err, were. Their static footage beats out the quality of several of the moving solutions, IMO.

I'm waiting on the arrival of one package this week and I will be making more Pro grade glass in the hopes of posting footage soon.

I'm working on the FAQ, too.

The Logo Contest -- I'm just waiting on an answer about what formats will be used for printing before laying out all the rules and whatnot. It will be for sure a two-color design but the dimensions, DPI, format, etc. I do not know. Once I get that answer, I'll post it here and lay down the awards structure...

Just to satisfy some of the Standard/Pro/HD questions, here's the breakdown of where each is at:

Standard: GG is completely done and tested. Final machining of the tubing and mounts are all that is needed -- otherwise this thing will be ready for sale as soon as the parts arrive. Parts are set to arrive in mid-April.

Pro: GG is nearing the end of its design phase. I am waiting on a few choice tools and components and will need 1-2 weeks testing time and should have footage up within that time. If this changes, I will keep you all up to date. My hope is to have all the kinks of the Pro glass ironed out before the parts for the Standard arrive, so that it too will be ready to go simultaneously.

HD: Piggy-backs the Pro development cycle as it uses the Pro's glass. I have only begun researching parts suppliers and simultaneously working through a few movement designs on paper but have not actually purchased, assembled and tested the components. This will take some time and I'm hoping to elicit the help of an engineer I know to compress the test cycle a bit. My hope is to have it completed early May.

Thanks for reading...

Maybe yes, maybe not... When? After? Maybe not... Or before?... Again: maybe yes or maybe not...

The question is: besides the Jim's work & efforts, to post to all it's worth of...

EDIT -- If there isn't nothing to say it's better not to say...nothing. :) I'm not being quote you, now. Better than a subjective point(s) -- to that there is IMHO; it's a point. And as we can see now, after 2/3 days without any new or post, the thread is alive again!

Excuse me but... when did the "coronation" took place? (and where):costumed-smiley-047
You're right! You are the King -- your footage speaks for yourself...

...and Jonathan is the Prince -- not the singer, I hope!... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Dan, are you trying to suggest that you haven't perfected tooth replacment on your Sherline?:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

As weird as it may seem, the dentist will perform today a "custom" procedure (never done before) as per my request! I will also sign a release form; he is not to be held responsible for the outcome of it. I can't do it all on Sherline, but I can make some suggestions about the mechanics involved.... Sad part is... I thought him into it (it makes sense!) and he'll do it.
Then.... all I have to do is :) and you will know who the king is! (Footage or no footage)

Ugh, dental work.

Just had one of my front teeth removed, so I'm a little gunshy on the topic. I work in a restaurant part-time so... it's certainly been an interesting experience to say the least, trying to be presentable with a front tooth missing. Now that I've got it back, I'm not sure I like the slight lisp I'm speaking with over the awkward appearance...

To have the King and the future Prince Consort posting it's a value-add here to us, to Jarred's website community and you have luck my fellow americans because you are there, if not you will pay VAT for sure. High(er) VAT. In the dentist chair or not.

BTW, King Dan, is there any opportunity to have your excellent device to work with the Sony's 1/2" chip XDCAM-HD series?

I'd honestly appreciate it if you two take discussion of Dan's work to another thread. Thanks.
