New 35mm adapter

Logo talk is always a good sign.

Continue the good work B. I'm happy to see things are moving along.

I have a question about size and weight for the HD version....

Hope all is well and thanks for the pics. It's great you are so forthcoming with your development. I think I can speak for a fair number of us here when I say that it reflects very well on you and your product.

Can't wait to see more.

Is there any outside footage with this adapter posted anywhere? One link at the beginning of this thread didn't work. I'm guessing it was the coffee house footage. I'm very interested. If there is any footage besides the dark room with the monitors I would love to see it.

Hey - how 'bout a logo/website-contest. I'd be happy to join in with suggestions on this. I've been working in the business for over 10 years now ;-)

Good idea. Let me first see if I can get a complex logo on the final product, or if it's restricted to just text and standard fonts, font widths/heights/sizes/etc.

i'm looking forward to this bklyndv. the only reason i come into DIY is to look at this thread. keep us updated. you've been doing a good job at it so far.

If all goes well you might get a dog,get marry and have a fulltime job. I'll be one of your costumers.

Personally, I would prefer that the logo be very small and professional looking -- looks more professional that way. Great work! Can't wait to see (and hopefully purchase) the final product.
Dates? Specially to Go35 HD -- BTW to Sony XDCAM-HD series.

I'm not going to set any dates just yet. If you scroll up, page back or whatever, you will see the timeline explained -- minimum 5 weeks from final design approval, which has yet to happen. So, figure 7 weeks from now, possibly -- perhaps more, perhaps less, but not by much either way, for the Standard and Pro. For the HD? Let me do some work over the course of the next two weeks and I'll have a better idea of what's realistic.

Go35HD also to Sony XDCAM-HD series, right? In the same schedule?

Thanks bklyndv. I'll be waiting and maybe I'll get some customers to you if your product will be grainless, noiseless and lightful enough.

[BTW, what's your first name? 'cause there is a hassle to write your nick and I like to treat all -- specially who is relevant, personally closer. For sure, if you are available and interested to go ahead. As you wish...]

I'm not sure I understand your question exactly.... the plan for the Go35HD is that it should work with any HD res camera, the only difference across camera platforms will be what size step ring will be needed.

As an aside -- I'm getting the occasional email from people asking me questions that have been answered in this thread already. I'm finding that keeping up with these emails is a pretty time consuming task, so I will be creating a FAQ and posting it at go-35.com shortly... hopefully by the week's end. This way I can consolidate a lot of the Q/A to one page and simply redirect people.

I will likely install a forum there, as well -- this way I don't crowd out other DIY threads on DVXUser, but instead just come here to post the occasional mile marker...

And to those asking, I'm Jim, BTW.

Dear Jim,

I think this is the best thing to do. Focus on what's your mission and that will do for most of us. Just as you said you'd do.

I was reading closely all this thread over the past few days and find it very exciting. It's very rewarding task to end up engaged in developing an idea, a project that will benefit the rest of us as well.

I keep my fingers crossed for you and wish you all the luck. Keep up the good work.

Thx Jim

5 weeks from final design approval that will occur 7 weeks far from now, so 12 weeks, possibly?

Or do you mean 2 + 5 weeks, that is, only 7 weeks from now?
(including the scheduled 5 weeks after final design approval -- that should it happen into next 2 weeks?)

I'll be waiting for the realistic update, then as you are saying during the next 2 weeks.

EDIT -- Sorry my asking details but I need them 'cause I've customers to who I'm doing consulting and they ask me precise dates.

Emanuel: for the Standard and likely Pro also, 7 weeks total from now, maybe a little more, hopefully a little less -- as in, second week of April. It breaks down like this: final parts meet my approval, I give the machinist the OK; payment clears; machining/anodizing the first runs takes 30 days; 1 week is allowed for quality control; then they're shipped to me. For the HD -- a little while longer most likely.

Please, I'll give you and everyone here the same advice I've given everyone who's emailed me privately with questions about release dates -- don't hold up, or hold off on doing a project on account of my adapter. I'm doing my best to get the product completed as quickly as possible, but more importantly, I'm trying to deliver the greatest quality product I can.

Because of this, the release dates and info I can give out are subject to change, and I don't want anyone here to miss out on doing a project because they've pinned their hopes on a quoted release date.

this is so funny, I actually replied to this thread thinkin' about twocik23's footage, I know I know....
sorry if I misled anybody, this adapter does add lots of grain
It's not a nice cumpliment my dvxuser.com fellow and uncommon as thin ice to a help community like ours.

Did you actually reply? When?

Did you want say something? Maybe misinformation?

At least, if you wish participate try help us with your hopeful thoughts and not with silly negative criticism that doesn't help at all. Nobody.

See the goal of your harmful action: 2/3 days without any new or post. It's not with posts like those that Jim or some other useful member they can work to the needs of this community as twocik23 does as well.

Let's re-launch the good Jim's will and work with this useful thread following the last six uninterrupted days before. Go ahead!

EDIT: I can even figure out you -- I have a similar personal POV with the HVX noise issue but I've been always to post as input solution and not the opposite.
