New 35mm adapter

Hey Jim. I'm not sure if you adressed this, but I think I remember someone mentioning a How-To DVD or something like that. I know I sure could use it. I mean if it gets you shooting correctly faster, right? Just wondering. Thanks again.

Each of the adapters I'm shipping are coming with a "shooting guide" document. It's somewhat sparse right now, but will grow with time.

As for a DVD, that's a great idea, and will take some doing once the adapter is released.

As an aside, I hope to have two (possibly three) beta testers reporting in soon -- they've each gotten copies of the beta unit Go35Pro and are reporting good things. Let me clear it with them and I'll start quoting their reports.

hey Jim,

Have you decided if you're going to sell the pro Diffuser? I remember you saying you were but nothing definite. It was listed at or around $150.00 right?

The Pro diffuser is $150. I am going to have to get caps made for it, which will take a minimum 6-8 weeks. I'm a bit behind on that development, sorry. It's all about juggling finances at this point, and I need to start bringing money in before branching out the product line...

Meanwhile, I've gotten the OK to anonymously quote one of the beta testers. They have said they will have a more comprehensive write-up done ASAP. For now, here are some highlights, referring to a Go35Pro Beta:

Image is crisp as hell. Grain?? What's that??

The client I'm using this for is stunned, he doesn't understand much about video but his first question was "You sure this isn't film??"

I read that you said this will give your camera a 16mm look. Wrong, this looks like straight 35mm film, point blank. The scenes I have that are lit properly ... are incredible. This adapter could potentially put the Guerilla35 to shame, I've used a recent M2 with the Cinescreen, the Brevis, U35 clone & use the Mini35 often & this adapter kills all of them as far as flexibility & image. The M2/Cinescreen was my favorite until I got this.

The bokeh is exactly what film bokeh is supposed to be. You have a winner...

Caps made for it? Must be lingo, because I haven't a clue what a cap is for? To ship the Diffuser in or something...sorry for my ignorance.

The diffuser is two glass elements that need to be sealed with caps. This is to ensure longevity of the diffuser. They need to be made before I can ship the diffusers off by themselves.

I read Il Eagles' review and it sounds sweet. Does anyone have footage from the Go35HD? Is the HD go35 version ready at all?

bklndv, your pm box is full & my yahoo mail is acting up. It won't let me send any emails & it's only showing the topic box, not the messege box.

Is the Pro the same as the HD? Does it have a moving mechanism?

Nope, as far as I know here's the differences.........

Go35 SD = Hand Ground GG (Maybe Different Achromat/Macro Type??)
Go35 Pro = Pro Screen (Maybe Different Macro/Achromat Than SD??)
Go35 HD = Moving Pro Screen

Ill Eagle's right for the most part:

Go35 Models

SD: macro; hand ground glass

Pro: achromat; custom diffuse screen

HD: achromat; moving custom diffuse screen

The HD production is halted for now. I need to get the two static models out the door, properly supported and sold before venturing into a moving adapter. For DV and (I'm fairly confident) for HDV, the Pro model will go head-to-head with moving adapters -- the HD will only be needed for the HVX on up. Since it is a smaller market with several competitors and a more costly initial investment, I'm going to hold off on entering it until I know I can make it profitable.
