New 35mm adapter

Wow. That's quite a price difference between the two units. I would think 509.00 for the HD sounds much more reasonable, but I understand how it goes when the unit has so much else going on. Ah well. At least you're putting them out there, and that's more than I can say for myself. Guess I'd better fire up photoshop and get to work on a logo!

Think of reducing whatever you've got in mind to something that can be easily stencilled, so a paired down bit of iconography would be nice.

I like the style of minimal, graphic imagery made up of negative space/shading, ala the old KMFDM covers, which in a way works in concert with the Go35 tagline: the revolution, without the spin. But of course, the "feel" doesn't need to be so agressive.

If you can dimensionalize some combination of "Go35" to give an abstracted appearance of depth, so much the better. Kudos to you if you can do that and make the letters in some way echo the shape of the adapter itself.

I'm not a graphic designer by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd imagine fullfilling the above ideas/requests (3D/dimensional) with something that can do all that in a stencil is going to be tough.

That's odd. To me they go hand-in-hand, and I'd do it myself if I had the time...

I don't know if I'd go as far to say "They go hand-in-hand".

If anything I think a stenciled graphic would naturally give more of a "Industrial" feel, than it would a "3d/dimensional" feel.

bklynDv,

can't wait to see the HD version - if you want to do some tests on an XL-H1,
I have one in Manhattan, near Union Square.
send an email
Cheers,

I think I'm not communicating the idea properly. When I say "dimensional" I mean an oblique representation of dimension, using incomplete negative space to create the "impression" of depth. Here's some examples:

AT&T's "deathstar" logo (especially the recently updated 3/4s version) has a series of curved rings, some of which bow out to give the impression of a sphere. I've posted a version of it here, but I've seen a straight B&W version that is essentially the same thing, and in fact better because it's more stripped down.

KFC's "The Colonel" is a recognizably human face made of a series of simple, solid color patches. Again, it could even be simpler and I'd like it even more -- you'd still get the "idea" if it was just the black segments.

OBEY would be along the same line...

Finally an image of the adapter :D All i've had to work from is that image of it attached to a GL1, which is significantly less detailed than that 3D mockup you showed earlier. Good stuff.

Well, it would be a helluva lot easier to produce images if I actually had production units in hand -- sorry :)

Alright hombre!

Check your inbox, there are 6 new logos in there, but i gotta say...the LAST one I sent you that's in its own email really knocks my socks off.

Q

Canon GL-2?

Canon GL-2?

So first my apologies for posting here with a question about another camera brand/model, but this looks like a great product. I was just wondering if I'd be able to get one that'll fit my Canon GL-2 (58MM Filter threads)

I seem to recall you doing your tests on a GL-1, but I'm unable to search as "gl1 is too short".

If so, I'll be saving up my $200 just in case my logo design isn't selected :)
