New 24-70 FE lens at IBC? (rumour)

Some insomnia speculations...

According to this:
http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/a-possible-sony-roadmap-for-end-2015/

There might be a 24-70 FE GM (whatever that means?) coming in September. Which, if true, would be at IBC, I guess.

I'm pretty sure that a 24-70 f2.8 lens is one of the most requested lenses for the e-mount system. And since they already have the 3.5-5.6 kit lens and the f4 Zeiss, it makes no sense releasing another f4 24-70.

So my guess would be (if there's any truth to this rumour) that Sony has licensed the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC DI lens. Sony has licensed Tamron lenses in the past and this would be the fastest way to get a 24-70 f2.8 to the e-mount, so it makes perfect sense.
And would mean a native FE 24-70 f2.8 with auto focus and OSS. That is my dream all rounder for my A7s/FS700.

What do you say? Think it's possible? I sure hope it is!

Haven't used the Nikon, but rented the Canon 24-70, and the short fiddly focus on that was a pain in the rear. Rather have AF, OSS and fly-by-wire than a short focus throw like that.

if its fly-by-wire then my nikon24-70 is still the king

amen to that. though i guess for the photographers fly by wire (and having the native mount/oss/auto focus) is probably preferable, for video work its such a pain. plus i love my nikon look.

follow focus is a bliss ^_^
if i need oss and af then i just go with a used kit lens. i just can't justify buying a sony lens.

I have the Tamron and love it , but use it with speed booster and the Mark IV meatiness so I have a choice of 24-70 or equiv 18-50 f2 lens. with OSS. I'd stick with that of a Sony E mt lens .
