Netting the lens?

I'm sure some of you have experience with DaVinchi and Madonna nets on the back of a lens, which gives a pro mist feel to the shoot.

Obviosly this is easy to do with cams that have inerchanable lenses; but can it be done on the new HVX?

I fail to see how one could do this with the HVX other than putting something like a pro-mist in front of the glass.

I'd probably recommend accomplishing the look in post to be honest - will it look exactly the same? Probably not, but you could get it close enough and having your original footage free of the effect would allow you more freedom to play with the footage in post.

Having a 4.2mm lens and high-def resolution makes for all the more propensity that the net or filter's pattern will be discretely discernible too. You'd have to take care to make sure you weren't getting the net in the DOF. Post may indeed be the better way to go, unless you consciously limit your focal length and aperture to keep the DOF suitably shallow.

I've used said nets on cameras like the SDX900 with HD Fuginon lenses and it worked great giving it far more of a prime lens look. It's a very easy process with interchangable lenses, just not sure what it would involve with an HVX since I've never taken the lense off of the DVX (assuming it works the same way)
