Neoscene For Mac - Working?

I have not yet tried 1080 on my new GH1. I would like to try the whole pulldown workflow for final cut pro. Is anyone using Neoscene successfully now on a Mac? I have read that there were some problems with the software on the Mac side.

i have tried the neoscene demo, as of yesturday its not working.

i have tried to ingest through FCP and JES to remove pulldown but it seems jagged after JES.

Im hoping they resolve neoscene soon.
 
Neoscene has a new build 28 that is supposed to work. I am testing it and it should be up soon. Build 27 had bugs as in my previous thread.
 
I was using Compressor just fine, but then stopped working... I can't reinstall it because I don't have with me the original cds (My version is the Academic)

So now I'm looking for another alternative...

It's got a demo mode so you can try before you buy. I'm using it. It's also cheaper than Neoscene. :-)

It does not interpolate to 4:2:2 so the color is not as good as with Neoscene. Voltaic has promised color interpolation for a long time, and then with their suite of products it will be a great solution. For now, I can clearly see the difference when I convert the same footage to Neoscene and Voltaic.

Ah, OK.

On the one hand, you're right... they've been promising the 4:2:2 interpolation. OTOH, they've been pretty good at delivering what they've promised... so far ;-)

I'll wait. :laugh:
 
I recently switched to JES instead of compressor because after doing side by side comparisons it looked like compressor was not removing pulldown correctly. JES was smooth and compressor had more of a shutter when doing long slow pans. You should try and see if you get the same results. Right now I am sticking to JES since it looks better to me.

Oh and don't forget that the forum has a Workflow section for GH1 with a thread at the top all about this subject.
