Before I was interested, but it has now become need. I need a set of the original Sony F3 PL lenses, 35, 50 and 85mm. For $4,000.00 in the LA, Orange County or San Diego area within 48 hours. Barring that the same set in Zeiss PL ( but I doubt that will happen. LOL)

I can pick up. Cash in hand.

Email me and we'll set up a time and place ASAP. Thank you.

Never heard of anyone who wanted those lenses so bad! What's the rush? I'm just curious. If it's a private thing no worries.
Good luck! I know some people who have them, I'll forward this.

Those lenses are chintzy in build, but great in optics. I shot a comparison test with RPP's and I think they are identical.
$4K is a steal. Duke, PM me if you know where I can get some for <$4k...I sold mine a while back, and regret it.
Thx

I agree that those lenses are a great deal. Last week I did a round of in-studio lens testing with 14 lenses I own plus a borrowed Canon 15.5-47 cinema zoom. I shot over 100 4K clips and carefully matched exposure with my waveform monitor and created a spreadsheet with all the technical details so I won't forget them. The Sony lenses scored at the top or tied for top on most tests, and in double-blind tests other people almost always choose the Sony lenses when going back and forth between clips. The other lenses included: A full set of Cine-Xenars, Duclos 11-16, RED Prime Pro 300, Sigma 50-150, Nikon 17-35, Nikon 35-70, Nikon 80-200. Those Sony's are nice I just wish there were more of them to round out the set.

I got them, did the shoot, sold them and bought a zeiss set.

No real witness marks and big were my biggest complaints. Not excessively heavy though. You can probably shoot 90% of everything on the three Sony's but what do you do for a little longer or shorter lengths. The newer lenses are a different size, etc.

Is your new set a Zeiss CP2 set Duke?

Nope, a set of Zeiss standard speeds movie lenses converted to PL mount and geared. All F2 (although the actual speed is T2.1, T2.2, etc.) so they are equivalent to the Sony's for speed. This set was actually used for the steadicam shots on the original Ghost Busters movie.

They are 16, 24, 35, 50, and 85mm. I also have 120 and 180mm in PL mount but F2.8. That pretty much covers all situations. For really long work there are some converted 300mm PL Zeiss around for a reasonable price that will tempt me later.

They are actually smaller and lighter than CP2s, which seemed clunky. They were film lenses so they have a decently long throw (maybe 300 degrees) and don't extend. They seem pretty consistent through the set, which is very nice. Same speed, same diameter (except the 85mm which is only 2mm different), close to the same length, gears are in the same spot.

The one thing I've noticed about Zeiss is they are a little cooler than I like. I have skylight 1A filters on all of them which seems to warm them the right amount.
