Looking for someone to replace me at ImageWest.tv in Las Vegas, NV.
I will be off shooting a feature starting December of this year and we need a replacement for me here. You'll need to wear a lot of hats. Here is a sampling of what I do on an average week:
Product Photography - all new products that we get in here need photos before they go up on the web.
Photoshopping - need to create and modify graphics for the site and for product listings
Web - Create and modify listings (you don't need to know much in the way of web design for this, it's about as easy as making a listing on ebay, so if you can do that you should be fine).
Research and Development - Stay on top of industry trends, know what gear is typically needed on a shoot, help define what gear imagewest.tv will be carrying in the future, make product recommendations, contact potential vendors, etc.
Customer Service - Talk to customers, recommend products, help troubleshoot and offer tech support on our products.
Video - Shoot and edit product demos, tutorials, webisodes, etc.
Perks are the chance to use a lot of cool gear for personal shoots, a hand in creating a brand for indie filmmakers, employee discount, and the opportunity to hone your skills in a friendly environment. Check out the site and familiarize yourself with the products. If this is stuff you understand/use/wish you could use, this might be a cool job for you. If you don't know what any of it is, then spend more time in the gear forums :happy:
You don't need a lot of experience, if you are a fast learner, but you should have broad general knowledge about lighting, editing, shooting, cameras, gear (matte boxes, follow focus, shoulder rigs, and the like), etc.
