I have to order a tripod today in order for it to get here in time for my shoot.

I have been reading and reading and what ive come up with is to spend some money and get a good one. I dont have the money to afford a miller or the upper end tripods. I have 300 to 400 for a tripod. I need the best i can get for around that price and the best place to purchase it.

Thanks guys!

For $300 to $400 you should be able to purchase an excellent tripod. Make sure it has at least a good fluid head, or even better, a friction head for smooth panning. Also, don't get bogged down on too heavy a tripod. You'll have a sore back if you have to carry it for any distance while shooting. I've got a Bogen fluid head tripod which I purchased about 20 years ago for $100. It's an aluminum tripod and easy to carry. I would recommend you calling B & H Photo in New York for further advice. They are terrific on good solid advice and recommendations. I've purchase thousands of dollars worth of video and photographic equipment from them for years. I also recently purchased my Panasonic 100B camcorder from them.

Good luck,
Henri
