F3: Need to Send my F3 in for a filter cleaning.

I got the estimate for cleaning optical path, ND filters and camera body. Full specification and functional check, which came to about what I expected, I gladly paid it right away because, of an added note "Note: Imager assembly part replacement covered by Sony." I should have the camera back by the first part of next week. What can I say about Sony Service in Teaneck, Great!

Which means you paid for nominal cleaning and they replaced the old sensor with the improved seal. Well done!

After 2 years and about 500 uses, I asked my local Sony rep about this optical path upgrade since there was beginning to be some dust on my F3 sensor. She arranged for me to send the camera to Sony service in Teaneck, and they replaced the sensor block at no charge. I do believe the neutral density filters are a little better on the new version, especially the darker "2" option and the camera works great. It only took about a week.

Mine one so far so good but what if there will be issue after my warranty run out, will Sony replace it for free?

Is this the problem for every early F3?

should I send it in now or wait?
