I'm doing a review for a national magazine of the HVX200 (also using an FS-100 and CineSaddle). I'm doing a more "real world work flow" review, as opposed to all the others I've read so far that concentrate on the tech spec sheet and not on real world use.

I welcome all feedback. So if you use the HVX200 in Louisiana, contact me ASAP! Deadline for feedback is May 19, 2005!

I am in Louisiana and have shot a number of feature films so far with the HVX as the primary camera, incredible footage, you can contact me.

I am in Louisiana. I've been using a DVX100A for the last few years and just recently upgraded to the HVX200. I absolutly love the look of the camera, the features, and how it feels but I don't think it's quite ready for event footage if you want to shoot HD. The two recent jobs I've been offered, one taping a concert and one taping the Vagina Monolugues, I've told both people that I'd have to do it in SD becase I don't trust Firestore and the 10 minutes my 4 gig P2 card provides won't be enough.

I'm using a Firestore, they're great. What do you not trust about them? They've got thousands of units being used for several years now and they simply are VERY reliable. As reliable as tape!

BenB, I am not in Louisiana but I did a movie there using the hvx200 as an additional camera with the cinealta's. You can contact me if you wish.

I'm glad yours is doing well but, if you glance these forums, you'll probably find many reports of people having issues with the FS-100. I also saw numerous issues occur when i was on a shoot with a firestore and a DVX100A. Finally, I don't think it's worth the money if there is no Native mode. The upcoming Cineporter will give me 2.5 times as much space and multiple framerates without having to be Raylight and extract redundant frames.

And of course, you can contact me if neccesary.
