Need to buy an HPX immediately. Suggestions for accessories?

I've always hired DP's in the past, so I've never needed my own camera, but I've come to a point where I need one asap. What would you guys reccomnd I purchase along with the camera so that I'll be covered to start filming immediately?

I'm down for a 64gb card, not sure if I should buy a second. I'm down for an extra battery, which says it lasts 9 hours, and I assume it's the same battery that comes with the camera, so I should be covered for 18 hours which is more than enough. It says it includes an AC Adapter/Charger, but does that mean it charges through the camera or that it's a seperate charger? If it charges through the camera would you reccomend a seperate charger? I'm gonna need a tripod. The Pearstone VT2500B is the cheapest one listed for the HPX on B&H, would that suffice or would you reccomend something else?

Anything else I may have missed feel free to chime in. I feel like such a noob but I need to make sure I have all my bases covered as I'll be filming as early as Monday, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

whatever size card you get, its better to have two smaller cards as opposed to one bigger one. that way, you can shoot to one while you transfer the other.

to my knowledge there is no stock battery that lasts 9 hours... 3-4 hours MAX has been my experience

never even heard of "pearstone" but at that price, its impossible for it NOT to be a piece of crap. about the cheapest brand of decent tripod you'll find is libec.

you will also need a wireless lav and a shotgun mic to round out a bare-bones kit.
and a set of decent headphones

what will you be using to offload your cards?

I was just going off of what was listed on the site.

"Panasonic's CGA-D54 is a battery designed to work with select Panasonic MiniDV digital Palmcorders. Its lithium-ion technology can power your camera for up to 9 hours."

I guess it means 9 hours for other cameras? As of right now I'm not worried about audio becuse I have a guy who has lights and sound equipment.

As for offloading I'm assuming you can use the camera itself to transfer the files to a computer? Are there any cheaper options other than the $350 Single-Slot P2 Memory Card Drive?

I also realized I'm gonna need some kind of a case, specifically one that I can bring on airplanes with me as a carryon. Are there any hard plastic ones that would fit that bill? I'm not sure I'd really trust a bag, but I certainly wouldn't want to check it.

pelican is the case of choice of most folks. im not sure which model is the largest carry on legal.
i use the 1610 model. it holds my camera, monitor, 3 batteries, 3 p2 cards, chargers and a variety of cables and tools.

the single slot panasonic usb reader is probably the most reliable usb-to-computer reader. of course an even cheaper route would be to find a pcmcia equipped laptop.

Thanks, it looks like their 1510 is specifically made for carryon. I checked the size requirements and it checks out.

i have a 1510 as well (that i use for other things) it will fit the camera. but just barely. and leaves less room for padding than i prefer.

i have checked my camera in my 1610 all over the world and never have had any problems... but i have superb karma ; )
