I shot a scene for my Mockumentary last week, I shot in a room with tile floor and now there is an echo problem, I mean it's not the end of the world but I don't like it. I am using FCP is there a way to get it to go away. also is there a way to get the audio a little stronger?

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about the "echo problem" you have. This is the natural acoustics of a room that's virtually empty and a tile floor. Once recorded you're pretty much stuck with it. If you can't reshoot the scene, try doing some ADR with your actor(s).

For future reference there are a couple of suggestions to deal with this problem.

1. Shoot some test footage with I assume dialog being spoken. Then play it back in your camera and view the footage for not only for the film side but the audio as well. This will let you know if this is acceptable or needs help.

2. If you do decide to film in a room with natural acoustics like this one, you can always knock down some of the natural room reverb/echo by employing some sound dampening technics. i.e. packing blankets, foam partitions, gobo's, carpet etc. Anything you have available to suck up the reverb. Even human bodies in number can dampen the natural sound.

As far as raising the audio track this can be done in any NLE or audio program. But
remember, you will also be raising the gain structure on any problems on the audio track as well.

Good luck.
