Need some PC advice for PP

Hi all:

I am a Mac guy and know very little about PCs. I am consulting for a client and he asked me to research if his present PC will have enough horsepower to deal with AVCHD and Premier Pro. Based upon my research, I am also recommending the BMD Intensity Pro as well for him as a cheap way to deal with monitoring AVCHD.

Any advice on his PC from those of you who are PC gurus?

Hi puredrifter

If he's transcoding to dvcprohd the machine should be good enough.
Ofcourse if your projects/ edits get bigger or more complex you will probably want to upgrade.

Ive succeded in cutting 3-5 minutes close to real time .
You will defintely need an upgrade or a new pc if you want to edit native avchd with or without plugins . Especially with bigger projects and if your working with deadlines. Basicaly it depends on what type of work you'll be doing. With Premiere the more you can afford the better off you will be.

Alas I miss those simple dv edits....
