Hey gang

Got a buddy who is in California and is trying to get his SAG El...and I need some info on which extras casting does SAG projects so he can try the old 3 featured voucher back door. I can't remember the names of the places mentioned before...fill me in gang!

Plus, I am going to get him to join here so he can get involved with some of you cool indie guys out there to build his resume.

Extras Management is one, he can request "union only" work on his exclusions list. But that would mean it would take a while to get his 3.

But they do SAG casting, as well as AFTRA and non-union. There's a few more companies, but not having actually been in their stables, I cannot say if they are better or worse.

What's his background? Anything medical? That CD/TA I was talking about asked me to help find her some qualified bodies, pref. Paramedics (former or current).

Plus I have a SAG Ultra Low, I am assisting on as a Producer (Armorer, Stunt Coordinator, Scut-boy, Prop procurer, Vehicle Procurer, etc), is he in LA now? I might be able to get him some camera time there, maybe.

He does not have medical background that I know of. He is doing a lot of fitness modeling now. Very sports oriented. I am just afraid he is in too much of a hurry and buying in to some bad info. He had a friend tell him he could link him to a guy who could get him his vouchers if he slipped him some money. sighhh...

I will pass these on. I am trying like heck to convince him to get in some classes and link up on here with some of the indie film folk to build a resume first.

Oh Lord, I hope it's not the same guy that tried that with me.

The Indie route is one of the best ways to build up a decent reel quick. Well comparatively quick. And most of the time, very fun.

I'm currently with Extras Management and that's how I got my first voucher. I just did NCIS and got the voucher. I've been with them for over two weeks and have been booking work almost every day! I'm trying to get into doing PA work but can't until I get all three vouchers for SAG! I saw your indie-arms, that's really cool! I always get casted for the Military/Cop look. I enjoy doing that stuff!

Hey, Michael, I added you as a friend, PM me if you are interested. Can't promise anything, but, I just called the EP on a film I am working on to see if I can get you on it. It doesn't pay, but the exposure could be big, based on the last one. Casting is already complete, but you never know. Since Michelle vouches for you, I will do what I can for you on this film. If you can get an ACU uniform, all the better.

I will ask, as it needs a bit of explanation, the PA work only after 3 vouchers? Is that because you want to get it out of the way first, then save up for the initiation fee?

EDIT: PM me your full name and last 4 that is registered with Extras ASAP. I have a reason for this. Can't promise anything and I cannot give details, but I will make some inquiries with a certain 2nd AD when I am on set (AFTRA show) (Poss. Monday). Granted, it will be BG work still, but I have 3 AFTRA vouchers just off that show alone and occasionally I work behind the camera on the show. (Shhh! I don't want a "Must Join" yet.) LOL. I am up to 7 for AFTRA and 9 for SAG. Times are tight now, though.

i don't know how to get this site to notify when there is a message and can't check in daily. Is there a setting for that because seems I and Michael missed all of this.

hmmmm it just says email notification but it does not say if that is on here or my regular email. i am having a 'slow thought process day' i think!

Ugh... sorry, Michele... been busy wish stuff that's kept me away from acting (which is unfortunate...). The only extras casting agencies that I really know of is LA Casting and Now Casting. Both of which are great to get into and could lead to the enviable SAG card. :)
 
cool Tom...Michael on the thread is the buddy. He is checking in here from time to time so he should see those! I will post him on FB to check it too!
