I'm shooting a short planned for the festival circuit...
I'm on the fence about shooting 720p/24pN or 1080i/24pA...
regardless of space and if going for quality, what should i shoot? I'm leaning to 1080, and I know that the sharpness gain is 15%, but that's still a small advantage not to be passed on.
I know that 24pN would be a breeze in post, but for the 1080i/24pA format I'm still kind of fuzzy about. What do my settings need to be in FCP in order to edit 23.98 in 1080 mode? Would I have to capture at 29.97 and remove the 2:3:3:2 pulldown? Or do I do that in Cinema Tools from what I've researched....
When it comes down to it, in the 1080 mode how do I get progressively scanned frames in a 23.98 timeline using FCP 5.1.4?
